Cecil Jones, 88, of Center, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at his residence. Jones was born June 16, 1927, in Louise, to Ira W. Jones and Pearl Goode Jones. He was a Church of Christ minister.
He is survived by his son, Larry “Dude” Jones and wife, Susan, of Tenaha; grandchildren, Justin Jones and Bailey Jones, both of Tenaha; aunts Frankie Gerhard, Helen McKey and Mildred Tipton, all of Edna; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jones; parents; brothers Leroy Jones and Raymond Lee Jones.
Pallbearers were Justin Jones, Bailey Jones, Leroy Newman, Otis Pleasant, Allen Pinnick and Donny Fountain.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 24, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 25, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Jerry Gannon officiating. Interment followed at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
