John "Paul" Bezoni

John “Paul” Bezoni, of Edna, went to be with the Lord, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born in Driscoll on Aug. 7, 1931, to the late John Thomas Bezoni and Jessie Elizabeth Martin Bezoni.
Paul served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He also worked for Exxon for 40 plus years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be truly missed. Paul frequently told his wife Peggie, “I am so glad you found me”.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Peggie June Thomasson Bezoni of Edna; daughter, Paula Joyce Matlock and her husband Phillip of Dallas; son, Preston Jay Bezoni of Edna; granddaughter, Claire Matlock of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mayo Bezoni; and sister, Peggy Joyce Buckner.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held in the Memory Gardens Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Adam R. Knapp will be officiating.
