ELBC hosts Kings Night dinner

The Magic of the Magi, theme of 2016 Kings Night hosted by Eleanor Brackenridge Literary Club, was again a wonderful gathering of individuals enjoying a gala affair.
The Sanctuary, site of Kings Night, was transformed with various wise men adorning each table accompanied by decorative gold items, orange sprigs, glass containers and a multitude of stars.
The early evening’s entertainment included singers Ashley and Sydney Patillo, Natalie and Colleen Fellers plus violinist Hunter Boxwell.
Delighting the 50 attendees during the dinner was a “star-studded” magician. Scott Hollingsworth, a former cruise ship entertainer and for 25 years the resident magician at Houston’s Magic Island, astounded the crowd with a variety of amazing feats.  Awe and laughter resounded after each trick.
Palates were enriched by the four course meal extravaganza outlined by an elaborate menu. At the conclusion of the event when the caterers were presented, the crowd’s overwhelming approval was expressed for the two local ladies, Denise Kubala and Teresa Durham, who volunteered their skills, knowledge and talents to EBLC and the attendees.
This fundraiser for Eleanor Brackenridge Literary Club enables the club to promote and contribute to other worthwhile projects for our communities. Jackson County Library, Texana Museum, Wounded Warriors, Women’s Crisis Center,  Relay for Life, and Camp Aranzazu have all been enhanced by support from EBLC. These contributions were amassed from Kings Night ticket sales. EBLC’s King’s Night affair enables the organization to fulfill our motto “…in all things charity”.
