Cobras raid Rice baskets at home

    The Industrial Cobras played a strong game against the Rice Raiders on Jan. 19 and won with a final score of 55-29.
    The Alexander brothers, Brandon and Kyle, were definitely instrumental in getting the team win for district play. Kyle started off the night with a jump shot, and Brandon followed with two points of his own, and then a three-pointer. Bubba Garcia scored two points as well with a rebound, and Brandon scored another two points to end the first quarter.
    The score was 11-10 in the Cobra’s favor at the end of the first.
    Brandon continued to up his numbers with two two-pointers, and Kyle followed with two two-pointers and a three-pointer. Tyler Warzecha scored two points and then Kyle followed behind him with another three-pointer. Brandon was fouled and score two free throw shots, while Kyle added two more points to end the second quarter.
    At halftime the score was 31-20, still in the Cobra’s favor.
    The third quarter belonged to the Alexander brothers, Brandon scored eight points in the form of a rebound, a free throw, a jump shot and another three-pointer. Kyle scored four points in the form of two two-pointers. The score was 43-25, still in Cobra’s favor.
    Rice was only able to score four points in the final quarter. Garcia scored two points, Trevor Ressman put numbers on the board with a two three-pointers, and Brandon and Kyle each dropped in one more shot each, bringing the final score of 55-29.
    The Cobras will have played Hallettsville there on Jan. 26 and will play Edna on Jan. 29, there.
