Ganado Indians get bitten by the Palacios Sharks

    Ganado welcomed the Palacios Sharks on Jan. 5 for a basketball game against the Indians and lost with a final score of 56-49.
    Matt Bridges started the night off with the first two points of the evening, followed by Caleb Thedford. Bridges scored a free throw shot before Thedford scored another two points. Jorge Campuzano stepped up and scored his first three-pointer of the night. Within a few minutes Sergio Martinez scored two points of his own before Bridges came back with a free throw basket and a three-pointer.
    The score was 16-12 in the Indian’s favor. Unfortunately Ganado didn’t score in the second quarter, only to have Palacios add 12 points to their score, making it an uneven 24-16 in the Shark’s favor.
    Thedford made sure that didn’t happen in the third quarter, and scored two baskets in a row. Campuzano then came up with another three-pointer, before Thedford came back and scored four more points in the form of one basket and two free throws. Bridges then came back with four more points of his own. Campuzano then scored another three-pointer before Thedford scored one more shot in the third quarter.
    The Indians were able to inch up their score to only fall behind Palacios three points at the end of the third, 39-36.
    Bridges started off the last quarter with two free throws and Thedford followed him with a free throw shot and another basket. Bridges came behind him with another three-pointer and a free throw shot. Campuzano scored another basket, and Bridges finished the game with two final free throw shots.
