Willie Rowell

Willie Dan Rowell, 79, of Victoria passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2015.  He was born Aug. 30, 1936 in Edna to the late Manus Burns and Mattie Givens Rowell. He received his degree from Texas A&I University and retired from DuPont after more than 30 years of service. Willie was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Cihal Rowell of Victoria; daughter, Nancy Lyn Hillary and husband, Gerald of Rockport; son, Michael Dan Rowell and wife, Jackie of Brazoria; step-daughters, Mary Beth Cihal of Dallas and Veronica Crolley and husband, Bill of Granbury; step-sons, Stephen Cihal and wife, Miriam and Dennis Cihal and wife, Robyn, all of Victoria and Christopher Cihal and wife, Diane of Ganado; brother, Dillie Don Rowell and wife, Mary of Somerville; brother-in-law, Ben Jones and wife, JoAnne of Spring Branch; heart brother, Clifford Powers and wife, Jenette of Austin; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Arlene Rowell.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Brewer officiating.  Burial followed at 2 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna.
Pallbearers will be Crossroads Emmaus Fourth Day Group.
