Kelly Morales, of Ganado passed away surrounded by his loving children and wife on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at the age of 78. He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Edna, to the late Melquiades Morales and Sarah Luna Garcia.
Kelly worked for El Campo Aluminum many years. Kelly was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.
Kelly is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Georgia Castillo Morales; daughters, Sarah Ann M. Hernandez and her husband Matias of Grand Pairie, Irma M. Jimenez of Edna; step-daughter, Anita Morales of Georgetown; son, Kelly Mario Morales and his wife Alice of Edna; sisters, Jovita Hernandez of Edna, Janie Cantu of Bay City, Hope Garcia of Houston; brothers, Tommy Morales of Bay City, Jessie Garcia of Houston; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many loving family members and friends.
Kelly is preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Garcia and step-father Conrado Garcia, Melquiades Morales and step-mother Juanita Morales; first wife, Janie Morales; daughter, Guadelupe Morales Torres; son, Joe Angel Morales; brother, Ernest Garcia.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. Rev. Michael Petering will be officiating. Burial to follow in the Latin American Cemetery in Edna.
Pallbearers will be Matias Hernandez, Jr., Gershon Hernandez, Juan Carlos Jimenez, Israel R. Morales, Joe Albert Torres, Luis Morales, Marc Mendez and Kelly Mario Morales, Jr. Honorary pallbearer is Matthew Millan.
Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna 361-782-2221.
