Larry Stutzman

Larry Lee “Pops” Stutzman, 69, returned to his heavenly home on Sept. 23, 2015, at 5 p.m. after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in god supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Larry was born May 31, 1946, Lincoln, Neb. to the late Leland and Lesley Stutzman. He graduated from Beaver Crossing High School and attended Weslynn University until he joined the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran and inducted into the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. He worked in the grocery industry for over 50 years, and retired from Super S/Lowes in May 2015. He resided with his wife in Devine, Texas. His family remembers him as a kind and patient man who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Larry is survived by his wife Rigmor; his children, Todd (Amy) Richardson of Sinton, Tonia (Scott) Rozner of Edna, Chad (Courtney) Stutzman of New Braunfels, Kerry (Brandon) Karl of Edna, and Benjamin (Shelli) Stutzman of New Braunfels; sisters, Joan Boyd and Brenda (Andrew) Minicz; brother, Jim Stutzman; 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Nelda (Yoder) Vogt and Elda Yoder.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. at Oakwood Baptist Church, 2154 TX-337 Loop, New Braunfels, 78130.
In lieu of flowers, the familiy requests donations to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude Pediatric Cancer Research, or the charity of choice.
