Ronald Denker

Ronald Wayne Denker, 67 passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015. He was born in Gonzales on April 28, 1948 to the late Wilbert Henry and Elva Ella Boldt Denker.
On March 26, 2015 Ron was diagnosed with cancer and fought a hard and courageous battle for 5 short months. Ron graduated from Gonzales High School in 1966. He was honorably discharged from the Cuero National Guard. Ron retired after 40 plus years from the Alcoa plant in Point Comfort.
Ron married the love of his life, Linda Dian Frederick, on June 1, 1969. They had 46 beautiful years together. They started each morning enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch of their country home. After ending a hard day's work, back to the porch Ron went for a refreshing libation.
In summary, Ron was a patient father, a devoted husband, a great role model to his grandchildren and a best friend to many. His eldest grandchild said it perfectly, “Pa could fix anything from a broken heart to a broken truck.”
Survivors include his wife, Linda Dian Denker of Victoria; daughters, Denise Denker and Dian Patterson (Caleb), both of Victoria, D'Anna Long (Donnie Mac) of Edna; sisters, Shirley Carlton of Gonzales, Patty Kurtz of Victoria; grandchildren, Mac Henry, Bethany and Logan Long, Austin Greer and Baby Warrior Ray Patterson “on the way”.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mariella Kuntschik Frederick.
Visitation services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Grace Funeral Home. A funeral mass was Thursday, Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Morales officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, EX-POW, MOPH, VVA, and KWV.
Pallbearers were David Klein, Craig Lester, Jose Laredo, Malcolm Sumbera, Caleb Patterson and Donnie Mac Long. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren, and hunting buddies.
Memorials in Ron's memory may be made to Warrior's Weekend or Hospice of South Texas.
