Julie McFeron Abraham

Julie Deann McFeron Abraham died in Corpus Christi on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015 at the age of 49. She was born on June 2, 1966 in Ganado to Ronnie and Patricia McFeron of Edna.
She attended the Industrial Schools in Vanderbilt, graduating in May 1984. She graduated from Victoria Junior College and attended the University of Houston at Victoria. Julie graduated from Texas A&I University at Kingsville in December, 1989 with a BA in elementary education, specializing in reading and early childhood development.
Julie married David Abraham on May 23, 1987. She lived in Portland. Julie began her teaching career with the Calhoun County ISD and has taught the last 10 years for the Gregory-Portland School District. She was currently at fourth grade reading teacher. Even though Julie was battling cancer the 2014-2015 school year, she kept teaching her students until the last day of school in May this year. She not only taught her students to read, she taught them about living your life to the fullest no matter what trials life gave you. Julie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Edna.
Julie is survived by her husband of 28 years, David Keith Abraham of Portland; son Timothy Patrick Abraham (Demi) of San Antonio; daughter Caroline Abraham of Portland; mother Patricia Koop McFeron of Edna; sister Cheryl McFeron Gray (Noble) of Vanderbilt; sister-in-law Susan Millard (Greg) of Webster; and brother-in-law Michael Abraham (Ida) of Houston.
She is preceded in death by her father Ronald Kenneth McFeron; brother, Perry Ray McFeron; grandparents Francis and Jewel Williams Koop; Walter and Beatrice Browning McFeron; and in-laws Carroll and Jo Marie Abraham.
Pallbearers are Noble Gray, Luke Gray, Greg Millard, Jonathan Millard, Trevor Millard, Wade Billings, Reagan Billings, Michael Abraham, and Brian Abraham.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 14 at Slavik Funeral Home in Edna from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be at the First United Methodist Church of Edna on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 2 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Edna music program or library program.
