Jim Buck Fowler

    Jim Buck Fowler, of Edna, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the age of 91. He was born in Grand Saline, Texas, on May 1, 1924, to the late Frank and Mary Pedigrew Fowler.
    Jim was retired from Mobil Oil Corp. He served in the US Army during WWII in England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland and Germany. He was awarded four bronze campaign stars. Jim was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion, Post 346 from Ganado, Masonic Lodge 621 in Wharton for 53 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed dearly.
    Jim is survived by his sons, Barry Fowler and his fiancé Jo Pegler of Alfriston, East Sussex, England, Jerry Fowler and his wife Ann of Sugarland, Michael Fowler and his wife Verna of Lufkin and Dale Fowler and his wife Dana of Victoria; Ten, grandchildren and Five, great-grandchildren.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary; wife, Betty Joyce Fowler; All of his sisters and brother.
    Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 5-7 pm. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the Edna Presbyterian Church, Edna, Tx. Reverend Dr. Terry Bozarth will be officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Red Bluff Cemetery in Lolita.
    Pallbearers will be David Rose, Scott Ortolon, Roy Ortolon, Ron Smith, Alan Berryhill and Andy Louderback. Honorary Pallbearers are J.L. Tipton, Ed Goad, Jon Poole, Walter Dollar, James Hunt, Jessie Hunt and Bruce Holman.
    Full military honors will be conducted under the auspice of American Legion Post 346 of Ganado.
    In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas, 605 E. Locust Avenue, Victoria, Texas 77901.
