Storm in the gulf headed straight for Jackson County

Jackson County commissioners, fire department, police and sherriff’s departments, and other officials met today for a webinar with the Emergency Operations Center to discuss the tropical disturbance that is moving toward the Texas Coast.
The storm is moving Northwest and currently has winds of 35 mph. The storm, regardless of whether it becomes a named storm or not, could dump as much as 10 inches of rain in some areas of South Texas, and 6-8 in others, pouring more water into already overflowing rivers.
Allan Friedrich, Jackson County Emergency Management Coordinator said that by the time the storm makes landfall, Jackson County could see winds of 40 - 50 mph, and serious flooding, especially in the country on county roads.
The EOC is calling for flash flooding from Monday night until Wednesday, and a small chance of tornadoes, with coastal flooding in areas like Galveston and Matagorda.
An update is expected from the EOC around 4 p.m. Monday.
