Congressman visits county

U.S. Congressman Blake Farenthold met with Jackson County citizens on May 26 to hear firsthand any  concerns they have about the federal government.
Farenthold represents the 27th District of Texas which includes Jackson County, is serving his third term in Congress and serves on the House Oversight, Transportation and Infrastructure, and House Judiciary committees.
The congressman held the round table discussion at the Jackson County Chamber.
Farenthold addressed border security, saying the federal government should take a lesson from the Israelis and use Predator drones to monitor the border and send agents when illegal activity is sighted. He spoke on the threat from ISIS and how many  may already be in this country and the concern of home grown terrorists.
Other issues mentioned by the congressman include Obamacare, “I think the Supreme Court will vote it away,” waters of the United States, “I expect it to be voted down by the Senate by the end of the year,” and the death tax, “it will destroy small farms and smash the American Dream.”
