Johnnie "Pete" Pearson

    Johnnie Thomas “Pete” Pearson, of Edna, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the age of 82. He was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Friona, Tex to the late John Thomas and Vertis Scarborough Pearson. 
    At the age of 18, Pete served 2 Years in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Pete became the owner of Ace Machine and Welding in 1960 where he was a welder & machinist for 17 years. He worked as a construction superintendent for Valero for 15 years and Independent Consultant for 5 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.
    Pete is survived by his daughters, Lesli Tipton and her husband Terry, Lisa Larkin and her husband Tommy and Jeannie Smith and her husband Terry all of Edna; son, Scott Pearson and his wife Cammie of Edna; sisters, Shirley Crabb of Edna and Patsy Quinn of Austin; grandchildren, Wesley Larkin (Maddi), Will Larkin (Holly), Lance Tipton (Kendall), Lindsey Floyd (Chris), James Larkin (Cameron), Sarah Atkinson (Grady), Aimee Pearson, Leighton Smith (Priscilla), Lauree Pearson and Mark Tipton; great-grandchildren, Boothe Wesley Larkin, Trevor Floyd, Taylor Tipton, Makaney Floyd, Cooper Thomas Larkin, Alexa Grace Larkin, Durham Tipton and Pearson John Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Peggy Jean Braunholz Pearson; son, John Arthur Pearson; sisters, Elizabeth Clark and Barbara Townsend; brother, Lonnie Pearson.
    Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, from 5-7 p.m., in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel of Edna. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 14, at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Edna. Rev. Adam Knapp will be officiating. Burial to follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna.
    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Edna, 216 W. Main, Edna, Texas 77957.
    Pallbearers will be Wesley Larkin, Will Larkin, Lance Tipton, James Larkin, Leighton Smith and Mark Tipton. Honorary pallbearers are Lindsey Floyd, Sarah Atkinson, Aimee Pearson, Lauree Pearson, Chris Floyd, Grady Atkinson, Kendall Tipton, çameron Larkin, Maddi Larkin, Holly Larkin and Priscilla Smith.
