Travis Childers

    Travis E. Childers of Louise died March 23, 2015 at the age of 64.  He was born on Jan. 23, 1951 in Wilmont, Ark. He was a retired substation technician for AEP, and recently had worked for Steam Roller Energy.  He was a Vietnam veteran.
    He is survived by his father Leon Childers of Ganado; wife Jeanette Childers of Louise; daughters Jackie Alvarez and husband Alex of LaPorte, Christi Dunagan and husband Bobby, Jr. of Port Lavaca; son Travis Lee Childers of Louise; step-daughters Amber Whitington and husband Clyde of El Campo, and Ashley Wells and husband Ryan of Sugar Land; grandchildren Rachel Alvarez, Malynne Childers, Jordan Childers, Katalina Garza, Tiffany Dunagan, Brittany Dunagan, Hunter Dunagan, Presley Wells, Kinley Whitington; great-granddaughter Lily Dunagan; sisters Barbara Ruth Moser of Montgomery, Carol Wilson of Georgetown,  Sandy Ramirez of Lake Jackson, Rhonda Sulak of Jonestown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Childers and former wife Debra Childers.
    Visitation will begin 2 p.m. Thursday at Triska Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick DuBroc officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Cemetery under the auspices of American Legion Post 251 and Prairie Switch Riders.
