Bennie Dunbar

    Bennie L. Dunbar, 83, passed away Friday March 20, 2015. He was born March 12, 1931 in Rollin Park, MS. to the late Charles Edward and Catherine Estell  Fospoll Dunbar. 
    Bennie served his country in the U.S. Army and fought in Seoul, Korea. During his lifetime Bennie worked for the railroad, owned several shrimp boats, was a bulldozer operator, auctioneer and an antique dealer.
    Bennie's survivors include his daughter, Dolores Gresham; sons, Bennie (wife Judy) Dunbar, Jr., Henry "Lynn" (wife Becky) Dunbar and Jeff (wife Angela) Dunbar; brothers, Marvin Dunbar and Bobby Cook; sister, Beatrice Campeau; eight grandchildren, Brent (Shawna) Dunbar,  Derek (Cara) Dunbar, Stacy (Shane) Reeder, Melissa Gresham, Rebecca (Joshua) Schroeder, Ashley (Joey) Morris, E.C. (Sydney) Cihal and Megan (Fabian) Dunbar; also sixteen great-grandchildren, Kaydie Dunbar, Ashley and Alexis Parker, Logan and Emma Dunbar, April Hicks, Devin and Alex Thompson, Brooklyn and Kenadie Reeder, Jaydin, Averie and Ava Gresham, Lexi Morris, and Bubba and Cameryn Webernick.
    Bennie is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Mary Kathleen (Bosarge); sisters, Pam Fields, Hazel Lusinger and Roberta Porter; and a brother, Charles Dunbar.
    Visitation will be Monday, March 23, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado starting at 9 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., and funeral services will be at 10 a.m., with Rev. Michael Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in the Assumption Cemetery with military honors provided by the Ganado American Legion Post 346.
    Pallbearers will be Joshua Schroeder, Joey Morris, Derek Dunbar, E.C.Cihal, Chris Skoruppa and Fabian Garcia.
