‘Girls working on defense

    The Edna Cowgirls played Jones in Beeville on Nov. 24 at home, and lost 41-45.
    Head Coach Brett Nidey said there was a great effort from the team against a bigger school that pressured them all over the court.
    Kacey Nidey and Sierra Pruitt each scored 10 points, while Nidey added four rebounds, seven steals, two deflections and three assists. Pruitt added three rebounds, a block, three steals, a deflection and three assists, and Haley Mitchell scored six points, three rebounds, two blocks, a steal, and two deflections. Ashley Soto, Bailey Brown, M'kayla Barnes and Kirstie Soto scored three points apiece, while A. Soto gave a steal, a deflection and two assists, Brown had seven rebounds, six blocks, and three steals. Barnes earned two rebounds, and a steal, and Tamara Mathis scored two points, a rebounds, a block, a steal, a deflection and an assist. Rylee Morrow scored a point, seven rebounds, four blocks, a steal and a deflection, while Kimberly Ortolon had a deflection and two assists.
