Helen Martin

Helen R. Martin, 87, of LaWard, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014. She was born in Junction City, La., on Oct. 16, 1927, to the late Raymond I. and Trudie Mae Hanry Revel.
    She was a loving mother, mother in law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. She touched the hearts of everyone that knew her.
    Helen is survived by her sons, Glenn Martin and wife Barbara Lynn of Edna and Gary Lee Martin and wife Betsy of Wrentham, Ma.; daughter-in-law, Theresa Martin of Edna; sisters, Kathleen Hassett of LaWard, Shirley Reichardt of LaWard and sister in law, Charlene Revel of Edna; brothers, Pete Revel and wife Pat of Hallettsville and Ken Revel and wife Gaye of Nursery; grandchildren, Matt Martin and wife Sherri of Lolita, Shelley Marek and husband Hondo of Edna, Brad Martin of Kyle, Ryan Clark of Mass., Travis Martin of Houston, Lee Martin and wife Oji of San Antonio and Christina Martin of Victoria; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 40 years, L.W. “Pepper” Martin who passed in 1987; son, Marvin D. Martin and brother, Ray Revel.
    Visitation was Monday, Nov. 17 from 5-7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel of Edna. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 in the United Pentecostal Church of LaWard. Rev. Mike Williams and Rev. Kendall Graves officiated. Burial followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Edna.
    Pallbearers were Matt Martin, Hondo Marek, Lee Martin, Brad Martin, Travis Martin, J.T Marek, Shelley Marek and Christina Martin. Honorary pallbearers were all nieces and nephews.
