The Industrial Cobras ended their season with a loss to the Hitchcock Bulldogs with a score of 48 -7.
Head Coach Jeff Rogers said everyone has been very disappointed in the way the Cobra season turned out. “I take full responsibility for that. Our football team has grown so much this season, and our record does not reflect how much we’ve grown,” he said. “This group of young men will continue to work hard and improve this whole offseason.”
The Cobras had a difficult first half with the Bulldogs jumping out to a very quick lead scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter. Industrial’s only score of the night came on a 20-yard touchdown run by #25 Trevor Ressman. The first half came to a close with a score of Bulldogs 36 Cobras 7.
Despite the Cobras efforts in the second half the Bulldogs scored two more times to the end the game and gave a final score of 48-7. Overall, the Cobras had 197 yards rushing and 205 total yards.
“The Cobras will be back in full force by the time two-a-days start,” Rogers said. “As for this group of seniors I told them I appreciate the way they came to work every single day and they never sold this program short. I would do anything to be able to coach this group of seniors one more year. All I can say about this group of senior is that I’m a better person because I had the opportunity to coach these young men,” Rogers ended.
