Cobra ladies take in the wins
The Industrial Cobras played Rice on Sept. 23 and won in three to one games. Final scores were 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, and 25-13.
Jessica Martin said the team has been working a lot on communication and defensive coverage. “We’ve been keeping our heads up when we make mistakes,” she said.
Cassidy High had 13 digs and 32 assists, Kayla Weixelman added three digs, 15 kills, and five blocks. Martin gave 13 digs and three kills, while Lauren Brogger added 21 digs and six kills. Taylor McCloud attacked three digs, seven kills and three blocks, while Katie Sparkman added three digs. Skylar Chreene gave 21 digs and a kill, while Brendalynn Fojtik had a dig and three kills, and Kelsey Van Pelt added three digs, two assists and three kills.
The Cobras also played Tidehaven on Sept. 27 and won in three games, with final scores of 25-6, 25-9, and 25-11.
High added two digs and 19 assists, Weixelman gave a dig, 10 kills and three blocks, while Martin had four digs and four kills. Brogger gave eight digs and six kills, plus McCloud’s seven kills and a block. Sparkman added two digs, 10 assists and a kill, plus Chreene’s six digs and a kill. Landry Mikulec and Fojtik added a kill each, while Van Pelt gave three digs and three kills.
“I think we’ll do really well against Edna,” Martin said. “We’ve been working really heard and with Edna being a huge rivalry, I believe we will play our best game.”
The Cobras will have played Edna on Tuesday, Sept. 30, and will play Rice at home on Friday, Oct. 3.
