Cobras go through another loss

The Industrial Cobras lost 41-0 against the Van Vleck Leopards in their Homecoming game on Sept. 19.
Athletic Director and Head Coach Jeff Rogers said they have a plan, and it will work. “Our kids are playing hard and believe in what we’re doing.”
Turnovers in the first quarter proved costly with Van Vleck taking the lead 7-0 in the first quarter. The Leopards scored three more touchdowns in the second quarter ending the first half of play 28-0, in favor of Van Vleck.
The Leopards scored early in the third quarter but the Cobra defense held off the Leopards the remaining eight minutes of the third quarter.     The Cobras pulled a big defensive stop on a fourth down by #61 Sean Bastian with two minutes left in the third quarter. It gave the Cobras a sign of hope, but that was soon lost.
In the fourth quarter with nine minutes left Van Vleck scored their final touchdown of the night, leaving the score 41-0.
The Industrial Cobras will face off against the Goliad Tigers at home, Friday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 pm.
Junior and offensive lineman #54 Devon De Los Santos said Goliad is a tough opponent the Cobras will compete with. “We will have to face adversity but we will stand up to the challenge because we are the Cobras and that is what we do,” he said.
