Indians triumph over Cobras in heavy win

The Ganado Indians pulled in a 43-12 win on their home turf Friday night against the Industrial Cobras. “We strived to have these guys to come together as a family this week,” said Coach Richard Gannels. “We really pushed them to do everything on the field for the family no matter the odds or the adversities that they could come to.”
Cobra Athletic Director and Offensive Coordinator Jeff Rogers said he takes full responsibility for their 0-3 start and will be vastly improved for this coming week. “The team is struggling because I have not done a good job at preparing them to be successful,” he said. “I have made some changes with practice, preparation, personnel, and coaching assignments.”
The game began and the Indians were already on fire as they received the ball on the kick-off. The next play, a throw by senior Jonathan Martinez, landed in the hands of junior Caleb Thedford giving the Indians a substantial 28-yard gain. A few plays later Martinez pushed his way to the end zone despite a pile of Indians and Cobras giving the Indians their first touchdown of the game without the extra point. This gave the Indians a shot of optimism and the first six points of many.
