‘Girls play Weimar

The Edna Cowgirls played against the Weimar Wildcats on Aug. 19 and won in three out of four games, 25-21, 17-25, 25-11 and 25-10.
    Coach Rachel Collins said the team is figuring out how to play together. “They’re figuring out how to be a team,” she said. “The chemistry is really starting to shine through with the team.”
    Haleigh Evans led the team in statistics with an ace, four kills, three clocks, 42 assists and 18 digs, plus senior Megan Callaway’s 11 kills, three blocks and two digs. Senior Ashley Myers added 20 kills and four blocks to her number, while Crystal Coulter attacked six kills, four blocks and three digs. Senior Haley Mitchell gave two aces and 16 digs, while Kadi Elledge added two aces, three kills, five blocks and five digs, and Kim Ortolon had 11 digs.
