David Gene Storz
David Gene Storz, 69 of Edna, embraced the open arms of his Lord Aug. 2, 2014. He was born Sept. 28, 1944 in Edna to the late Eugene Andrew and Wilma Browning Storz. David was a retired Industrial Junior High School teacher and retired insurance agent from Texas Farm Bureau Insurance. He enjoyed retirement by reviving the BS Cattle Company and running the business on the same property where he was raised, working on his parents’ dairy farm.
He is survived by his son David Andrew Storz and wife Jennifer; daughter Genna Storz Tucker and husband Andy; one grandson Josef Reichert Storz; brothers Bill Storz, Frank Storz and wife Martha, and Tony Storz; and sister-in-law Nona Storz. He is also survived by many loving family members, friends too numerous to count, and three granddogs, Arley, Ava, and Adler.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother George and sister-in-law Joyce.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, in Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Edna with Rev. Andrew Schroer officiating. Burial to follow in the Red Bluff Cemetery in Lolita.
Pallbearers will be Pat Browning, Mark Crull, Jerry Storz, Alex Gobellan, Kenneth Land, Bobby Koop, Chris Browning, Billy Storz and Malcolm Sumbera.
