Local swimmer finds her element in water’s splash

    Six-year-old Zoe Rojas from Edna is a human fish that’s rapidly taken to water. In the process of three months she’s progressed from swimming 10 meters to 50 meters and drops seconds off of her backstroke nearly everytime she swims it. Her favorite bathing suit is black and pink with zebra stripes and she loves spelling, math, reading and art. When she speaks of swimming, her facial expressions become very serious.
    On June 28, Zoe competed in the 6 and Under category at a City Swim Meet in Victoria and qualified for Regionals in Corpus Christi on July 12. At Regionals, she placed 8th in the 25 meter freestyle out of 26 girls, and placed 9th in the 25 meter backstroke out of 26 girls, and her with her team placed 1st in the 100 meter relay. The relay team qualified for the State meet in College Station in August.
