Industrial pitcher decides to play for UHV

    A prized All-State Industrial Cobra has made the choice to stay closer to home and play Jaguar softball at University of Houston- Victoria. Recent graduate and pitcher Madison Garza, after re-evaluating the future career of her sport, switched from being a prospect player at Blinn College in Brenham to the university in Victoria.
    “UHV is a four-year school, so I will have the opportunity to play there for four years and be ‘Madison the softball player’ and ‘Madison the college student,’” Garza said. “At Blinn, my freshman year would be adjusting to college life and my sophomore year I’d have to start the recruiting process all over again.”
