Church steeple struck by lightening

Lightning struck the steeple of the first united Methodist church in Edna around 4 p.m. today. An antique light fixture that hung inside the steeple fell nearly 15 feet, but sustained only minor damage. No one was injured and church members are on hand assessing the damage. A full story will be in the Wednesday paper.
