Molly McCormack

Molly Elizabeth McCormack, of Edna, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the young age of 21.  She was born on Sept. 9, 1992 in Victoria to William Patrick and Tammy Sowell McCormack.
    Molly was beautiful and saw only the best in everyone and touched the lives of so many. She bravely and courageously fought a 5 ½ year battle with cancer and never gave up her fight to be cured. She was an inspiration and a ray of sunshine to many who were fighting cancer with her at M.D. Anderson in Houston. Molly was proud to be honored at the Jackson County Relay for Life and signing the Pink Fire Truck for cancer survivors. Molly was very thankful to her friends, family and people she never met that prayed for her throughout her illness.
    Molly is survived by her parents Pat and Tammy McCormack of Edna; brother William (Billy) Patrick McCormack, III of San Antonio; grandparents Larry and Barbara Sowell,  Helen McCormack and great-grandmother Dell Sowell, all of Edna; aunts and uncles Tommy Sowell of Edna, Michael and Shelley Menefee of Port Alto and Jody McCormack of Edna;  cousins Megan Sowell of Waco, Kyle Sowell of San Antonio, Brittney Sowell of Austin, Garrett Menefee of New Braunfels, Mary Kathryn and Thomas Rocco of Brenham, Elizabeth and Isabella Lopez of Waco and  Braelynn Sowell of San Antonio;  special friends Danielle Lopez, Morgan Yendrey, her special companion Lola, and many loving friends and extended family.
    Molly was preceded in death by her grandfather William Patrick McCormack, great-grandparents Olan Sowell, R.T. and Helen Bain and Clinton and Mary Newell.
    A Celebration of Molly’s Life will be held on April 19 at 11a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Edna.
