Maidens play close game
The Ganado Maidens played Shiner on Friday, March 21 and lost, 3-5.
“We made some early mistakes that might’ve made a difference in the outcome, but overall I was very pleased with how we played,” said Coach Malina Andel. “We haven’t played such a close game all season and they handled it well.”
Lindsey Kocian, Taylor Mirelez and Sierra Salazar each had a run, with Brianna Ledwik, Jordan Banda, Mirelez, and Ashley Bridges bringing in a hit apiece. Ledwik ran a double and Kocian and Bridges each stole a base.
Freshman Cheyenne Galindo pitched the game, allowing ten hits, five runs, four earned runs, three walks, six strikeouts, and no homeruns.
“If we continue to play like that then I have no doubt we’ll come out on the winning end next time,” Andel said.
The Maidens will have played Weimar on Tuesday, March 25, and will play Flatonia on Friday, March 28.
