William Weakley
William 'Harvey' Weakley, 72, of Ganado, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. He was born Dec. 22, 1944, in Needville to the late Ewell and Elizabeth Sills Weakley.
He was a hard-working, honest man who was loved by his family. He retired after working 30 years in the Palacios area for General Telephone Company. Having spent most of his adult life living and working in Palacios, he and his wife settled in the Ganado area during the last years of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Danna Weakley; daughter, Landra Vandenbergh and husband Chris of Palacios; sons, Brian Weakley and wife Tanya of Needville, and Clinton Weakley and wife Tracy of East Bernard; sister, Emily Edmunds (late husband, Connie Edmunds) of San Antonio; and brothers, Walter Weakley and wife Marie of Cape Carancahua, Palacios, and Tom Weakley and wife Kim of San Antonio. He was blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Lindsay, Julia, Brooke, Rylee and Chase, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
As he requested there will be no public service or memorial.
Memorials may be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude's Children Hospital, in lieu of flowers.
