Indians limit turnovers

    The Indians came out and played against Louise on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and won, 47-15.
    “We played great as a team, limited our turnover and had great defense,” said Indian Clay Vesely.
    Kameron Smith scored 17 points, eight rebounds and two steals, plus Clay Vesely’s eight points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Caleb Thedford scored five points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals, in addition to Jorge Campuzano’s two points scored and seven rebounds. Austin Alford scored five points and eight rebounds, and Matt Bridges scored six points by shooting two three-pointers.
    “I think we did good, we’ve been practicing on everything,” said Indian Chris Arriaga. “At the end of the day we still got it done.”
    The Indians played Shiner on Friday, Jan. 31 and lost, 32-44.
    Smith scored 16 points, five rebounds and two steals, plus Vesely’s eight points scored and four assists.
    “Defensively we played well enough to win, we just turned the ball over too many times,” said Coach John Armstrong.
    “Our defense needs to work on speed and rebounding,” said Kameron Smith. “We’re just going to get ready to come out and play.”
    The Indians play again on Friday, Feb. 7, against Flatonia there.
