Amelia Trevino
Amelia Treviño, 81, of Bay City passed away Jan. 23, 2014. She was born Aug. 17, 1932 in Edna to the late Manuel and Victoria Treviño Figueroa. Amelia was a longtime resident of Bay City, and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was best known for her strong work ethic, generous heart, and tireless giving to others while she did without. Amelia was a devoted wife of 60 years to husband Tony Treviño, and also a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Antonio “Tony” Treviño; two daughters, Rachel Treviño-Garcia and Mary Helen Martinez; a son, Steve Raul Treviño; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, son, Tony Herrera Treviño; sister, Luisa Alfaro and four brothers, Andrew, Manuel, Pete and Tony Figueroa.
The family received visitors from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27 at the funeral home with a rosary held at 6:30 p.m. The mass was held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment followed at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
