New AD has impressive history on the field

"They say the #1 response from soldiers when asked what is it that makes them willing to leave safety and run into gunfire is overwhelmingly ‘my brothers beside me’. That's how I want our athletes to feel about each other and their coaches," future Ganado Athletic Coordinator and Head Coach Jim Bird said.
He knew at a young age he was going to be a coach because his father, Jim Ed Bird, was one and let Bird tagalong at the field house or football field as a kid.
"I just knew my life would be in sports and assumed it would be playing for as long as I could, and then coaching from then on," said Bird of his career. "My life around sports and my father is definitely where my passion for the game comes from."
