Ila Mae Emerson
Ila Mae Emerson, of Edna, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at the age of 95. She was born Sept. 21, 1918, in Christine to the late Calvin H. and Ima Ola Williams.
Ila Mae was married to Johnie Lee Emerson for 53 years before his passing in 1989. She was a housewife for many years. She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed. Ila Mae was an active member of First Baptist Church, Edna since 1937.
She is survived by her daughter, Ima Jane Snyder and husband, Larry of Huntsville; son, Jim Emerson and wife Jamie of Houston, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Ila was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Bobbie Jean Emerson and William R. Emerson; her two brothers, J.C. Williams and spouse, Marie, Leon Williams and spouse; Dorothy and two sisters, Thelma Reinhart and spouse, Pete and Doris McDonald and spouse, Don.
Visitation was Saturday, Jan. 18, from 12 -2 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Edna. A funeral service was at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Krause officiating.
Pallbearers were Jeff Emerson, Joe Emerson, Matthew Palmer, Nickolas Bonvillion, Cody Snyder and T.K. Treme. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Stanton, Bobby Bell, Bobby Joe Williams, Bobby Putnam.
