Taking the healthy challenge
The Edna ISD faculty participated in a six-week Healthy Habit Challenge. There were 12 teams comprised of three employees from all campuses. Teams earned points by choosing habits from a list of healthy activities such as walking, drinking lots of water, eating fruits and vegetables, and doing good deeds. An awards ceremony was held Nov. 14 and the first place team was “The Meltaways” Vanessa Koehn, Crystal Hamilton and Ulma Armendariz. Second place was “The M&N’s” Nancy Melton, Nancy Schaffer, and Michele Orsak, and third place was “The Hungry Heifers” Lisa Newbern, Crystal Garza and Peble Sorensen. Lisa Newbern was the grand prize winner and received a free one-year membership to the Jackson County Hospital Wellness Center.
