County 4H makes a difference

Jackson County 4H members stocked the shelves at Helping Hands collected during the One Day 4H Countywide Food Drive. With the help of the community they collected 2,680 pounds of food which will supply Helping Hands with canned goods for a little over 3 months. Before the donation, the shelves and drawers at Helping Hands were bare.  Marcella Ramsbacher, executive director of Helping Hands requested 4H deliver the food before Thursday so that the center would not have to turn clients away.  Members in the photo include Shane Darilek, Paxton Koop, Courtney Mercer, Alexis Miller, Landon Miller, Taylor Darilek, Hannah Janssen, Sydni Engelmohr, Maci Engelmohr and Lane Koop. Taylor Darilek, Senior 4H, has participated in stocking the shelves at Helping Hands since the inception of One Day 4H five years ago.
