Allan Lochhead

s life at the age of 67 on Aug. 8, 2013. A resident of Rocky Point in Stuart, Fla., "Al" was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on June 1, 1946 to Thelma and Robert C. Lochhead. He was the eldest of four children and brother to Craig, Carolyn and Jill.
    "Al" began working at age 7 singing Christmas carols door to door in Vancouver with a buddy. At age 17, he appeared on "American Bandstand" as a dancer in Vancouver. He was an athlete and he excelled at football, basketball and swimming. Al was an alternate on the Canadian swimming team at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. After graduating from the University of BC, he became an entrepreneurial businessman, managing the Alberta branch of Goodall Rubber Co. He and a partner later started Correpro Alberta Ltd. He was a consultant in the energy and natural resource industries, as well as involved in developing residential real estate.
    Al relocated to his favorite place, Florida, in 1999 to embark on new business ventures including the swimming pool and marine service and supply industries and the auto appraisal business. Al always had a passion for cars and boats. He taught his children to water ski behind his prized American Eagle boat, "Gizmo," named by his children. Al recently continued to enjoy talking to fellow boaters when on the water in Gizmo. He was an avid sports fan, particularly watching Formula 1 Racing, football and basketball. He loved listening to his music collection including soul, R&B and jazz, which always brought a smile to his face.
    He is survived by his wife, Carol Andel Lochhead. They married Dec. 30, 2000 in Jensen Beach, Fla. He leaves behind his children, son Travis Lochhead and family of Edmonton, Canada; son Jason Lochhead of Edmonton, Canada; daughter Mitia Patterson of Edmonton, Canada and daughter Cara Lochhead of Calgary, Canada; granddaughter Madison Lochhead and grandsons Shelby McAmmond and twins Henry and Nathan Lochhead.
    Al had an enormous love for all animals and he leaves behind his beloved Airedale Terriers, Lola and Boomer and his "kittis", TS and Buddha. He will be missed by family and friends in Florida, Canada, Texas, and Mississippi.
