Ganado wins against Louise

The Ganado Indians improved to 4-2 on Oct. 4, defeating the Louise Hornets (0-5) 55-0 in the Battle of Mustang Creek. “It feels good from the loss of last week,” said senior defensive standout Brayden Andel. “The offense and defense worked hard and we all played perfect; this was a good start before we prepare for district.”
Louise appeared quick on their feet as they moved and shuffled to rack up a couple of quick first downs. Rising to the task defensively for the Indians were Thomas Parks, Cody Plant, and Ray Salazar, putting an end to the momentum exhibited by the Hornets.
On the Indian’s first offensive play of the game, Ganado Indian senior quarterback, Salazar, connected with wide receiver Taylor Thedford for a 57-yard pass to reach the Louise 14-yard line. Head Coach Jimmy Thompson would again look to Salazar and Vesely who teamed up for a 9-yard gain before being tackled by a Hornet at the 5-yard line.

“We played better and executed our plan and that was the difference tonight,” Head Coach Jimmy Thompson said. “We start district in a couple of weeks and it’s great to get a big win like this when you’re going into a bye week. The win came at a good time.”
Ganado will play against the Yorktown Wildcats on Oct. 18.
