Cowgirls bring wins home
In under an hour the Cowgirls beat the Bloomington Bobcats in three volleyball games on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 25-14, 25-19, and 25-7, at the Edna gym.
“Our best strength is that we don’t give up,” #4 Haley Mitchell said of her team. “We try really hard. The other team fought hard, but we picked it up in the end. We’ve been working on our jump serves lately, but we’re going to work on everything for our next game,” she said.
Natasha Evans came away with 12 kills, three digs, four blocks, an ace, 21 assists for her team, and Haley Orsak gave six kills, two digs, a block, and two aces. Drew Ganem attacked 13 digs and an ace, while Madison Kucera added 15 kills, eight digs, and an ace. Haleigh Evans achieved four digs, 11 assists and two aces, with Crystal Coulter’s three kills, a block and three digs. Megan Callaway gave her team two kills, a block and a dig, while Mitchell added 11 digs. Bethany Long attacked four digs and Kamryn Roman, five.
The Cowgirls then played a district game on Oct. 4 against the Aransas Pass Panthers, there, and won in three games, 25-10, 25-12 and 25-19.
