Robert Caesar Jr., of Edna, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at the age of 73. He was born in Cordele on Aug. 23, 1939, to the late Robert Sr. and Annie Jones Caesar.
Robert, was a rice farmer for many years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Paulette Green Caesar, daughters; Sharen Caesar George, Karen McKnight, Sandra Parker, Kelli Caesar, and Brittney Caesar; sons, James Ray Caesar, Robert Caesar III, Marvin Caesar, Fredrick Green and Mychal Dilworth all of Edna; special friend, Catherine Dilworth as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Earnestine Callis Caesar; sisters, Ella Martin, Nellie Marshall, Lois Roller, Emma Humphrey, Alader Sales, Maggie McGrue, Annie Mae Caesar, Frances Hines and Adela Grays; brothers, Kelly Caesar, Brooker Caesar, Jonnie Caesar and Lee "Bud" Caesar.
Visitation was Friday, Aug. 9 from 5-7 p.m. at Oaklawn Funeral Home. Funeral services were Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. at Oaklawn Funeral Home. Burial followed in Chase Cemetery with the Rev. Maurice Washington officiating.
Pallbearers were Jesse Norman Jr., Bobby Miller, Herchel Callis, Creston Barnes, Clifford Thorton and Ervin Edwards. Honorary pallbearers were Cliff Barnes, Tommy Barnes, W.G. Tones, Kenneth Tones and Keith Caesar.
Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna, 361-782-2221.
