Real-life pawn shop nothing like the show

With shows like Hardcore Pawn and Pawn Stars, there is growing interest in pawn shops.
Tommy Pesek, manager of Edna Pawn Shop, said Hardcore Pawn is the closest example of what really happens in pawn shops because they actually have regular customers on the show. He said most shows are exaggerated and planned.
“A lot of the merchandise that they bring in and the conversations that they have are scripted,” he said.
