City makes good on promise to drop tax rate

City of Edna officials are standing behind their pledge to lower the tax rate by 10 cents when they met in regular session on Aug. 1.
Ken Knight, city manager, presented a budget which reflects the drop and based on his estimate could be set at .2088 per $100 valuation, since the city will not be paying as much for fire and EMS.
