With grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the Edna ISD I, too, am an advocate for quality education in our system and trust our school board to make decisions that are in the best interest of our students.
Also, I favor the athletic department to continue as a vital part of the school’s curriculum.
Students who excel in certain sports may be offered scholarships to advancing their education and possibly reaching their full potential.
Thank you Edna ISD school board for being a watchdog over our school system.

Gohmert recognizes threat
Congressman Louie Gohmert doesn’t represent our particular area, but he represents my view and those of many Jackson County residents in that he recognizes the threat radical Islam holds for our nation.
Gohmert is a man of principle striving to educate the uneducated and willfully ignorant or blind high-level government officials and other politically correct elected Congressmen and senators in Washington DC to this very real threat to our nation’s sovereignty. I applaud him for his courageous stand and can only wish for more politically-incorrect Americans like him.
He is a voice crying in a wilderness of politically-correct politicians; a present-day Paul Revere riding to warn us of an invading army coming to conquer our land and subjugate its citizens. Those who heed his warning may turn out to be the salvation of our culture, our nation and our very lives.
