Hlavaty - Hernandez to wed

Jerome and Margaret Hlavaty of Yorktown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amy Michele Hlavaty, to Justin Matthew Hernandez, son of Robert and Guadalupe Hernandez of Atascosa. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jerome Hlavaty Sr. of Lolita and the late Henrietta Hlavaty. She is a 2004 graduate of Yorktown High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Texas A&M University, College Station in 2008. She received her doctorate in medicine from Texas A&M Health Science Center in 2012. She is currently completing her residency in family medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler. The prospective groom is a 2003 graduate of Sunnybook Christian Academy in San Antonio. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Baylor University in 2007 and is currently pursuing his Masters of Science degree in biology at the University of Texas in Tyler. The couple will exchange vows on Oct. 26, 2013 at Elmwood Gardens in Palestine.
