Getting ready for fireworks show at BRC

More than 30 cases of fireworks were delivered to the Hafernick Center last Wednesday for the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority’s annual celebration to be held on Saturday, July 6. Clinton Simpson started from Tampa, Florida dropping off fireworks to different places, and he’s driven over 13,000 miles since June 2.
“I picked up my wife Hannah on the 14th and kept driving. I’ve dropped off at Busch Gardens, Six Flags, Disneyland, and several small local fire departments in Texas and New Mexico,” Simpson said. “But this is my first time to drop off fireworks in Edna.”
Randy Mumme and Rory and Cathy Hafernick met Clinton and Hannah at the drop site, while Charles Reckaway, deputy general manager of LNRA, oversaw the drop off. Randy and Rory are the men licensed to set off the fireworks for this week, and they both voiced their excitement.
