Fast cars and flying mud at Texana Raceway

Did you know race car is spelled the same backwards as forward?  At the Texana Raceway in Edna, it’s common knowledge. Spectators come from the lower half of the state, ranging from Corpus Christi to Cuero to watch cars spit chunks of wet dirt out when they rev up their engine.
"I've heard the raceway here is just as good as the one we have in Corpus, so I had to come and check it out for myself," an anonymous race car goer said.
The different categories one can race in are mini-stocks, pure-stocks, street stocks, trucks, dwarfs, limited modified, and late model cars. Each category differs by the type of car a racer can drive, and no one can enter in more than one category per night. Before the official races start, each set of cars takes a "hot lap," where each racer drives the course a few times to get the feel for it. When it’s time for each category to race, the cars line up according to overall points accumulated in a season up to that date.
