Lucio G. Hernandez of Edna passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the age of 66. He was born Oct. 15, 1946 in Ganado to Eusebia Barrientes Hernandez and the late Jose Maria Hernandez.
Lucio worked as a maintenance man for many years, Lucio touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end, he also was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his daughters, Lucinda Hernandez, Erica Hernandez of Edna: Pamita Hernandez of Corpus Christi, son Ruben Trevino of Edna; sisters, Emilie Zarate (Manuel), Mary Linda Sertuche (Pete), Jaine Zamora Saldierna (Rudy); brothers, Felix, Johnny (Stephanie), Tommy (Jova), Emilio (Angie), Mingo (Michelle), Jesse (Terry), Manuel, Ignacio (Eloisa) Hernandez; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his dad Jose Maria Hernandez; sister, Lupe Zamora and brother, Joe Hernandez.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 13 from 5-6 p.m., at Oaklawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 13 at 6 p.m. at Oaklawn Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna. 361-782-2221.
