Chase - Renken pledge vows

 

Shelley Ann Chase of Edna and Kevin Don Renken of Shiner exchanged double ring nuptial vows on May 4, 2013 at Baptist Temple in Edna with the bride’s brother, Rev. Mitchell Chase of Louisville, Ky., officiating the ceremony. 
The bride is the daughter of Buster and Karen Chase of Edna and the granddaughter of Louise Sims of Edna.
The groom is the son of Ron and Iris Renken of Shiner and the grandson of Elva Bender and Clifton Renken, also of Shiner.
An arbor adorned with plum and green flowers, unity candelabra, and green, plum, and champagne-colored pew bows decorated the church. 
Wedding music was provided by organist Susan Wilson of DeRidder, La.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was lovely in a white strapless satin pick-up ball gown accented with a plum sash. On her hair she wore a veil with a white satin edge lined with pearl accents.
She carried a bouquet of assorted plum and green flowers hand-tied with champagne ribbon.
Maid of honor was Megan Gresham of Ganado. She wore a long halter-top plum dress with a champagne ribbon sash.
Bridesmaids were Michelle Kalina and Lori Filip of Shiner, sisters of the groom, Stacie Chase of Louisville, Ky., sister-in-law of the bride, and Kara Garcia of Kensington, Md. They wore one-shoulder satin plum knee-length dresses with a champagne ribbon. 
Flower girl was Bailey Filip of Shiner, niece of the groom. She wore a white satin pick-up ball gown with a plum sash.
Serving as best man was Clint Macek of Victoria.
Groomsmen were Glenn Kalina and David Filip of Shiner, brothers-in-law of the groom, Charlie Lewis of Shiner, and Dillon Kalina of Shiner, nephew of the groom.
Ring bearer was Jensen Chase of Louisville, Ky., nephew of the bride.
A reception, meal and dance followed at the KJT Hall in Ganado.
The bride’s cake was a 3-tiered white confection with raspberry filling and cream cheese icing, accented with her chosen colors of plum and apple green.
The groom’s special cake was a chocolate sheet cake decorated in the Dallas Cowboy theme.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents in the Baptist Temple Family Ministry Building.
Following wedding travel to the Bahamas, the couple will make their home in Ganado.
Shelley is employed at Refugio Memorial Hospital as a paramedic.
Kevin is employed with Simplot Trucking Company in Hallettsville.
