Lavaca-Navidad River Authority recently earned a Texas Big Game Award for "Land Owner of the Year" in Region 7 through the Texas Wildlife Association. LNRA received the nomination for their work on the youth hunting program.
The award was announced at the May 15 LNRA board meeting by Patrick Brzozowski, general manager of LNRA. A few individuals from LNRA attended the Texas Big Game Award 2013 Regional Banquet in Brenham at the Fireman’s Training Center.
“It’s a good award and we’re proud of it,” Brzozowski said.
Texas Parks and Wildlife’s David K. Lanford said The Texas Big Game Awards is designed to generate awareness among land owners, land managers, hunters and the public, that those trophy animals are not accidents. They are the result of someone’s planning, hard work and sacrifice. In order to reach TBGA qualifying proportions, the animals must have places to sleep, hide, breed, raise young and have access to water and food on the TBGA website.
