Hospital district prepared to provide EMS

Jackson County residents who live in the Edna ISD will get to decide if they want to support a new emergency services district when they go to the polls on May 11. The ESD 3 will replace the Edna Fire and EMS, expanding its fire and ambulance coverage to citizens in the EISD in exchange for a property tax of up to 10 cents per hundred valuation.
Bill Jones, administrator and CEO of the Jackson County Hospital District, said its Emergency Medical Services will be there for Jackson County residents regardless of the outcome of the election.
